This privacy policy describes how Sean Roberts for Zone 7 (the "Campaign") collects, uses, and protects information you provide when visiting robertsforzone7.com, signing up to volunteer, or making a campaign contribution.

Information we collect

  • Contributor information. When you donate, we collect your full name, mailing address, email, phone number, and, for contributions of $100 or more as required by California campaign finance law, your occupation and employer.
  • Volunteer information. When you sign up to volunteer we collect your name, email, phone number, city, and preferred volunteer activities.
  • Site analytics. We use Vercel Analytics to measure aggregate page views and performance. We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any third-party advertising trackers.
  • Cookies. Our site uses essential cookies for session management (Clerk authentication) and theme preference storage. We do not set advertising or tracking cookies.

How we use your information

  • To process and report campaign contributions as required by the California Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC) and the Alameda County Registrar of Voters.
  • To coordinate volunteer activities and communicate about campaign events.
  • To send periodic campaign updates by email (you may opt out at any time).
  • To comply with California Government Code requirements for campaign finance disclosure.

Public disclosure of contributor information

California law requires that contributions to candidate-controlled campaign committees be reported publicly. Contributor name, city of residence, occupation, employer, contribution date, and amount become part of the public record through filings with the Alameda County Registrar of Voters and are searchable through the FPPC's online tools. This is required by law and cannot be opted out of for contributions that meet reporting thresholds.

How we protect your information

  • Donation processing uses Anedot, a PCI-compliant political payment processor. The Campaign does not store credit card numbers.
  • Authentication is provided by Clerk; passwords are never stored on the Campaign's servers.
  • Data is stored on Vercel and Supabase infrastructure with encryption in transit and at rest.

Information sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We share information only with:

  • Government agencies as required by campaign finance law.
  • Service providers (Anedot, Clerk, Vercel, Supabase) under contract to operate the website and process donations.
  • Volunteers and staff who need contact information to coordinate campaign activities.

Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information you have provided that is not subject to mandatory legal retention (such as donation records). To make a request, email privacy@robertsforzone7.com.
